Continuing from south to north, you can notice on the left, the mussel farms and the“Casoni” which are wooden buildings on stilts used by fishermen as a shelter or storage for their equipment.
These big poles that you can see on your left are the Briccole and they are used to trace the navigable canals. The briccole are formed by two or more big poles in oak wood, tied together and stuck at the bottom in the sand. Groups of five poles, one of which is higher than the others, indicate the beginning of a navigable canal.
