Just before the second harbor mouth, you can see first the small village of Porto Secco and then San Pietro in Volta. Today they represent an oasis of tranquility, authenticity, and local traditions. You can also find the Little Museum of the Southern Lagoon where evidence of its ancient origins and environmental disasters are documented.

During the war of Chioggia the three villages of Pellestrina, Porto Secco, and San Pietro in Volta were completely destroyed by the Genoese, and were then repopulated by 4 Venetian families the Busetto, the Zennaro, the Vianello, and the Scarpa who then gave their name to the four districts that divide the village of Pellestrina.
