The building dates back to the early 1500s and underwent a major restoration in 1853 by the famous architect Fuin, who drew inspiration for the facade from the Procuratie Vecchie in Piazza San Marco. The result is striking in elegance and style, maintaining the charm of Art Nouveau in the intricate marble and ironwork.
The wrought iron decorations on the facade remind us that in the 1800s, the building belonged to the famous Austrian hat-making family, Habig, whose most prestigious clients included the Austro-Hungarian royal family.
The property covers an area of approximately 750 square meters and consists of 25 rooms, some with private terraces, spread over 4 floors with an elevator.
The breakfast room on the first floor is decorated with Venetian plaster walls, handcrafted mirrors, and Murano glass lamps.
On the 5th floor, on the splendid terrace with panoramic views of the city, the lagoon, and St. Mark’s Basilica, breakfast can also be served.
